Frequently asked questions
Does X Clean upload my photos or contacts?
No. Photos, videos, contacts and calendar events are analysed only on your iPhone. Nothing from your library, address book or calendar is sent to us or anyone else.
Deleted photos — can I get them back?
Yes, for 30 days. iOS moves deleted photos and videos to Photos → Albums → Recently Deleted. To actually free the space, empty that album.
Why doesn’t the free space grow right after cleaning?
- Empty Recently Deleted in the Photos app.
- If iCloud Photos is on, the space is freed after iCloud syncs.
- iOS updates the storage numbers with a delay — check again in a few minutes.
How does the charging animation start automatically?
In the app open Charging → Launch automatically → Set up. In short: Shortcuts app → Automation → + → Charger → Is Connected → Run Immediately → action “Show Charging Animation” from X Clean. The animation closes by itself when you unplug.
The widget doesn’t update
- Tap ⟳ on the Cleanup Stats widget to refresh instantly.
- Open the app once — the widget reads the latest scan results from the app.
- iOS limits background refreshes, so automatic updates happen roughly every 15–30 minutes.
- Lock Screen widgets are part of Premium.
How do I connect Gmail or iCloud Mail?
Open Cleanup → Mail and choose your mailbox.
- Gmail: turn on 2-Step Verification in your Google Account, create an app password at myaccount.google.com/apppasswords and enter it together with your Gmail address.
- iCloud Mail: create an app-specific password at account.apple.com → Sign-In and Security → App-Specific Passwords.
The password is stored only in your iPhone’s Keychain. You can remove it any time from the mailbox menu (⋯ → Sign out) or revoke it in your Google / Apple account.
Does X Clean read my emails?
Only on your iPhone and only what is needed to group messages: sender, subject, date, size and the unsubscribe link. Email content is never sent to us or anyone else. Messages are moved to Trash only after you confirm.
How do I restore my purchase?
In the app: Settings → Restore Purchases (or on the paywall: Restore). Use the same Apple ID you bought Premium with.
How do I cancel the subscription or the free trial?
iPhone Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → X Clean → Cancel Subscription. Cancel at least 24 hours before the trial or period ends to avoid being charged. Deleting the app does not cancel the subscription.
How do I get a refund?
Payments are processed by Apple, so refunds are requested from Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
How do I delete my data?
Your photos, contacts and calendar stay on your device. Usage statistics are linked to a random identifier — write to us (see above) and we will delete them.
